The electrical side
A fault can be a connection, not a component
A modern vehicle has a lot of wiring and many earth points. When a connection corrodes or loosens, the symptom can show up somewhere else: dim lights, slow cranking, or a warning light that comes and goes.
The circuit is tested, under load where that is needed, before a part is recommended. A poor earth or connection can look like a failed battery or alternator, so it is checked rather than assumed.
The audio side
And audio faults can be electrical faults
Alternator whine, a sub that cuts out at volume, a head unit that resets on start-up, a reversing camera that stopped after a stereo upgrade. These can come from power, earth or signal wiring as well as from the equipment itself.

What to expect
Auto electrical and car audio in one business
Audio problems such as an amplifier cutting out can have an electrical cause. Doing both kinds of work means the power, earth and wiring can be checked along with the equipment.
Fault finding by testing
Intermittent problems, communication codes and flat batteries often need circuit testing as well as a scan. The first hour of diagnosis is used to work out what is needed, and findings and options are discussed with you.
Clear about diagnosis
Diagnosis is charged by the hour. If the fault is not found within the first hour, you are told what has been found so far and what further testing is likely to be needed before more time is spent.
