Wired Right Auto Electrical and Car Audio (ABN 59 315 456 258) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, who handles it on our behalf and how to contact us about it.
Many small businesses are not covered by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), although there are exceptions. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles as good practice.
What we collect
This website has two forms: the contact form and the quick quote quiz. When you submit either form, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, this can include your name, phone number, email address (optional on the quiz), vehicle details, the service or work you need, your timeframe, your message and your answers to the quiz questions.
With each enquiry, the form also records the page you submitted it from, the date and time of the submission, and your IP address.
When you call or email us directly, we collect whatever you tell us. If we go on to do work for you, we keep records of the job, such as quotes and invoices.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, discuss and quote the work, carry out work you authorise and keep our business records. We record your IP address with each enquiry to help us identify spam and misuse of the forms. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not add enquiry details to a marketing list or newsletter.
How enquiries are handled
When you submit a form, it is processed by a script on our website’s web host. Enquiries sent through this website are delivered to us by email using SendGrid, an email delivery service, and a copy is recorded in a Google Sheet that our website provider manages on our behalf. If SendGrid cannot be reached, the web host’s own email system may be used to deliver the enquiry instead.
Who handles your information
We use these service providers to receive and keep enquiries:
- our website’s web host, which runs this website and the form script;
- SendGrid, which delivers enquiry emails to us;
- Google, which provides our business email account and the Google Sheet where a copy of each enquiry is recorded; and
- our website provider, which manages this website and the enquiry Google Sheet on our behalf and so can access the enquiries recorded in it.
SendGrid and Google may store or process information outside Australia.
We may also share information where it is needed to carry out work you have asked for, or where we are required to by law. We do not share customer information with data brokers or advertisers.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use analytics, advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts, and its fonts are served from this website rather than from a third-party font service. If that changes, we will update this policy.
How long we keep it and how it is protected
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to respond to your enquiry and to keep our business records. We take reasonable steps to protect it against misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Some records, such as invoices, may need to be kept for business or legal reasons. To make a request, email wiredrightae@gmail.com or call 0410 289 658.
